Chinese 101 is getting ready for its first closed Android test, and our public tester group is open now. You can join yourself, without emailing us or waiting for a manual invitation.
Google Play installation is not available yet. We’re preparing the fully free test release. Our tester page shows the current status and will carry the Play enrollment link when it is ready. Joining the group today does not start your 14-day testing period.

Founding tester places are numbered 001–024 in Google Group join order. Enrollment will close when the cohort is full, so join early if you’d like to take part. The offer is limited to one place and one gift per person.
We want people who will try Chinese 101 as part of their learning: open lessons, practise characters, change languages, and tell us where something is unclear or broken. You do not need to be an expert in Chinese or in testing apps.
Free while you test. A gift afterward.
All Premium features are free throughout the Android preview, including the bundled lesson library and continued daily practice, with no ads. No payment method or subscription is needed.
Once the closed test opens, opt in on Google Play and stay opted in for 14 consecutive days. Use the app during that time and send us honest feedback. After completing that testing period, qualifying founding testers will receive a separate 90-day Premium gift, with activation instructions.
The preview does not use up your gift’s 90 days. The gift will not charge you or renew automatically. It is Premium access for Chinese 101, not cash or Google Play credit. A public review, positive rating, or ad click is never required.
Four steps, one Google account.
- Check your account. Use the Google account selected in the Play Store on your Android phone.
- Join the group. Open Chinese 101 Android Testers, select “Join group,” and confirm your membership.
- Become a tester. When the Play link opens, opt in using that same account.
- Install and learn. Follow the Play download link, install the app, and begin testing.

Help us make the next version better.
This is a preview, so you may find unfinished content, translation mistakes, or rough edges. Vietnamese currently has a smaller beginner lesson library. Tell us what happened, what you expected, and which phone and app language you used. Please leave passwords, payment information, and other private details out of screenshots.
We’re looking for honest feedback, including things that do not work. Send us your feedback whenever you find something worth improving.
